United States Postal Service Mail Delays – Impact to Tower Members

The United States Postal Service (USPS) has announced significant mail delays which has had an impact on mail coming to and sent from Tower, including check deposits and loan payments. Tower processes mail on the same day it’s received. However, in some cases it’s taking significantly longer than usual for us to receive your mail resulting in deposits and payment postings later than expected. Tower provides a variety of digital self-service options that can be done from the comfort of your home. However, if you choose to mail-in payments or deposits, please consider extending the send time as it may arrive weeks after your postmark date and Tower cannot guarantee if the posting of these items will meet your due date.

Information on 2020 tax statements

Tax statements for 2020 were mailed. If you earned $10 or more in dividends in 2020, Form 1099 was issued. If you paid interest on a Tower mortgage or home equity loan in 2020, Form 1098 was issued. Due to delays with the USPS, we recommend that you sign-up to receive eStatements which will also allow you to view your tax statements online, in addition to receiving your tax statement in the mail. Here’s how to sign-up:

  • Login to Home Banking > Additional Services > eStatements
  • Login to Mobile App > More > eStatements

December Statements

December statements are available online. Due to delays with the USPS, paper statements may be delayed. We recommend that you sign-up to receive eStatements so you can view your statement immediately online and download or print it, if needed. Here’s how to sign up:

  • Login to Home Banking > Additional Services > eStatements
  • Login to Mobile App > More > eStatements

I mailed a check to pay a bill but the merchant/biller has not received it yet. What can I do?

Due to delays with the USPS, some companies are working with their customers to waive late fees if payments are delayed. Here are some tips that may help:

  • Contact your merchant/biller to let them know you mailed your payment and it was delayed. Find out what they recommend as your next step.
  • If you need to make a stop payment of a check, login to Home Banking and go to Additional Services, then Stop Payment.
  • Consider enrolling for Tower’s online Bill Payment. It’s free, safe, secure, and many payments are delivered electronically. You can also enroll to receive eBills.

To enroll it Bill Payment:

  • Login to Home Banking > Transfer and Pay > Pay Bills
  • Login to Mobile App > Bill Pay

How to update contact information with Tower

Quickly update your address, phone number and email address securely online in Home Banking or Tower’s Mobile App. Here’s how:

  • Login to Home Banking > My Profile
  • Login to Mobile App > More > Select Navigation Gear in top right corner> My Profile
