Tower Federal Credit Union participates in the American Heart Association's Howard County Start! Heart Walk 2013
Laurel, MD—Tower Federal Credit Union employees took strides against heart disease and stroke by participating in the annual American Heart Association's® Start! Heart Walk 2013, on September 21 at Lake Elkhorn Park in Columbia, Md. Tower donated $500 to the American Heart Association to support the organization's health programs geared toward helping Americans live longer, healthier lives.
The annual event, which raises funds to fight heart disease and stroke, consisted of a non-competitive, three-mile walk and activities that inspire participants to increase physical activity, make better dietary choices, and lead a healthier lifestyle.
"The annual Start! Heart Walk event is a great way for Tower employees and friends to come together for an important cause," said Becky Vogt, Human Resources Generalist at Tower, and Tower's team coordinator for the day's event. She added, "I cannot think of a better way for all of us to join with others in an effort to remain committed to heart-healthy living than by engaging in cardiovascular activities such as walking."
