Tower Federal Credit Union Employees Raise Funds for Seriously Ill Children
[Laurel, MD]— During two recent fundraisers, Tower Federal Credit Union raised $2,600 for the Johns Hopkins Children's Center in Baltimore, Md., a member hospital of the Children's Miracle Network.
The first event was Tower's eighth annual employee luncheon and "Casual for Kids Day" fundraiser on September 17. For a $5 donation, Tower employees could wear jeans and their favorite sports team sweatshirt, T-shirt or jersey to work that day. The luncheon was organized by Tower's senior management team and included a buffet meal from Mission Barbecue of Glen Burnie, Md., games, door prizes and giveaways.
The second event, held October 10, was "Orange Friday." Again, for a $5 donation, Tower employees could wear jeans, sneakers, and their favorite baseball-themed shirt to work. The fundraiser celebrated the Baltimore Orioles entering the American League Championship Series.
Both events were held at Tower headquarters in Laurel, Md. Employee donations totaled $2,320, and Tower pitched in $280 for an even donation of $2,600 to the Johns Hopkins Children's Center.
Since 1998, Tower has donated over $700,000 to local and national charities.
